Centre for Logistics and Investment Poznań (CLIP) was set up in 1998, but its history goes back to the early 90s and the STS Car Distribution Centre. CLIP and STS are located on Rabowicka Street in Swarzędz, on the East-West transport route, half-way between Berlin and Warsaw. Poznan's international airport, Poznań's position on the E20 Paris-Moscow railway, the Berlin-Warsaw motorway currently under construction and proximity to the port of Szczecin 250km away all made this the ideal place to set up a company that could operate in every business sector.
In a short time STS became Poland's top car distribution centre, which in turn meant that CLIP became Poland's most up-to-date logistics centre. Every day 3 fully loaded trains bring around 700 vehicles to the STS site at Swarzędz. On this site, which covers an area of 1,700,000 m2, STS operates all the essential preparation facilities for storage purposes, such as customs clearance, delivery and distribution, including a five-track railway siding.
CLIP and STS is an enterprise with 100% Polish capital. To supply its network of 300 car dealers on the domestic market and all over Europe it has its own fleet of 230 car transporters, a highly motivated and committed staff of over 500 employees, including qualified managers responsible for various fields of activity, including the company's yard with a capacity of 15,000 cars. STS cooperates with a significant number of car dealers around the world, including such prestigious makes as Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Porsche, Peugeot, Daimler Chrysler, Citroen, Ford, Renault-Dacia, Ssang-Yong

The next stage in CLIP Logistics development is the construction of a further two logistics platforms, which is already at an advanced stage and is due to open at the end of October 2007. The first platform is a high-loading warehouse with an area of 45,000 m2, its own railway siding and a state-of-the-art loading ramp; the second platform will cover an area of 30,000 m2. Every day the CLIP Group tries to meet the expectations and requirements of its present and prospective clients; its prompt completion, flexibility and reliability in this cooperation all ensure that CLIP enjoys an excellent reputation
In the near future, or to be more precise, in September 2008, CLIP will open its second Car Distribution Centre, in Warsaw.
Investment plans for 2008 include constructing a modern petrol station CLIP Petrol for our needs and those of our trading partners; extending Rabowicka Street to meet the A2 motorway; constructing a viaduct in Paczkowo 4km from Swarzędz to alleviate motor traffic congestion in the town; running the Diesel Multiple Unit (Railcar) track directly to Rabowicka Street in Swarzędz; building further logistics platforms and other investments.
All these developments points to the continued development of the CLIP Group, which was founded less than ten years ago and has grown to become a huge organisation cooperating with many large, small and medium-sized companies, creating new workplaces and participating in numerous charity activities.
